John Temple

Principal, CEO

As Principal and CEO of 1031PropertyWatch, and with over 32 years experience in the real estate and securities markets, Mr. Temple leads his company with both his experience and vision.  

Mr. Temple started in the securities industry with A.G. Edwards & Sons in 1983 where he served as Regional Manager until 1990.  From 1990 to 2000, Mr. Temple was the CEO and Due Diligence Officer of Temple Securities, Inc., a nationally licensed Broker Dealer.

Mr. Temple began working in the Tenant-in-Common (TIC) industry while it was still in its infancy in 1999 after recognizing the benefits that TIC ownership could provide his clients.  In 2001 Mr. Temple founded 1031PropertyWatch, an OSJ-Branch office of OMNI Brokerage, Inc., the largest broker-dealer in the TIC securities industry, based upon equity raised.  John is considered by many to be one of the grandfathers of the industry.  Under Mr. Temple’s leadership, 1031PropertyWatch has helped investors successfully close over $410 million in investment grade-real estate.

John has been a member of OMNI Brokerage’s Investment Committee since its inception in 2001.  Mr. Temple is a founding member of the Tenant-in-Common Association (TICA) as well as a current Officer on TICA’s Board of Directors and a member of the Ethics and Standards Committee.  He is also a long-time Affiliate Member and Sponsor of the Federation of Exchange Accommodators (FEA).  Mr. Temple earned a degree in Finance from the University of Oregon.  He holds an active Utah real estate license as well as several securities registrations, including General Securities Principal, Options Principal, Municipal Principal, and Financial and Operations Principal.

John and his wife Lori’s greatest pleasure is their family of three children and three grandchildren.  John is an avid outdoorsman.  His passions include hunting, fishing, hiking, and camping.  He dreams of the day that his young grandchildren can join him on his many outdoor expeditions.
